Brisbane River Dragons invites all clubs to attend the Dragon Boat Regatta at Lake Kawana on Sunday 17 January 2021.

Racing will commence at 8.00am and the event will be staged as follows:

There are some restrictions however set by Qld Health and the Sunshine Coast Council that all participants, volunteers and officials will need to abide by at the event:

• Social distancing, as per our Covid Plan, is to be observed wherever possible

• Everyone must carry masks with them at the event

• Masks must be worn in all indoor areas which basically amounts to the tower and toilet facilities

• Masks must be worn outdoors at all times when participants are not in boats racing
  (Masks to be put on again straight after each race which means going straight back to the point where participants left their mask)

• Masks are not required while racing as this is vigorous exercise and also not safe for all from a health perspective.

The requirement for masks relates to all participants, not just participants travelling from the Greater Brisbane area.

It is appreciated that the mask requirement will cause some inconvenience, however, it’s either this or no regatta and I’m sure we all want to race.

Local Council and Health authorities will be conducting random checks throughout the day so please ensure your members abide by these requirements
